EL PUEBLITO: THE ICONIC ENTRANCE TO THE OHL CLASSIC AT MAYAKOBA
Image
“El Pueblito,” which in English translates to Little Village, transports guests to a time and place where you can live a true Mexican experience. From the moment you arrive, take time to admire the colorful architecture of Mexico in the “Heart of Mayakoba.” As tradition dictates, a village square is the social point for locals; a place to shop, eat, listen to music and meet with friends and relatives.

In November, the OHL Classic at Mayakoba takes over “El Pueblito” and transforms it to become one of PGA TOUR’s most iconic tournament entrances. It is a place where you will find a fun-filled family environment, delicious food, Tequila Patrón, ice-cold beer, and expo booths from our sponsors. El Pueblito is home to the OHL Classic’s Food & Drink Festivals during tournament week. Don’t miss out on all the fun!

THE FOUR WORLD-CLASS HOTELS OF THE MAYAKOBA FAMILY
When the PGA TOUR first visited Mexico in 2007, Mayakoba was home to only one 5-star hotel – the Fairmont Mayakoba. More than a decade of growth has passed and as we prep for the 12th edition of the OHL Classic at Mayakoba; the resort is now home of four world-class hotels–Andaz Mayakoba, Banyan Tree Mayakoba, Fairmont Mayakoba and Rosewood Mayakoba. Each offers a unique personality and a distinct experience, all while maintaining the luxury and quality of Mayakoba.

RECIPE FOR MAYAKOBA
Ingredients for a Sustainable Resort

1.Take a square mile of Caribbean-front land and spend years researching the best way to develop it.
2.Hire an army of ‘-ologists’ to make sure that it is just right (Biologists, Archaeologists, Ornithologists, Anthropologists, etc.) and then gradually add Engineers, Architects and Surveyors.
3.Open up 5 miles of waterways, ensuring that the flow of water from the inland springs to the ocean-side cenotes maintains a perfect environment for aquatic life.
4.Build lightly on the beaches and sand dune areas.
5.Construct the main buildings on the jungle area, leaving the mangroves alone to be the ‘lungs’ of the environment.
6.Add the best hotel management companies, all with strong environmental credentials, to manage the resort hotels.
7.Hire a friendly and professional workforce who respect that the environment is a key ingredient of their place or work.
8.Place all of this in the care of the professional biologists at each hotel, and throughout Mayakoba, to ensure that this magical place is preserved.
